\"Feeding the baby\" - behind this phrase there is a whole science and experience of generations. The period of feeding is undoubtedly one of the most exciting, but at the same time the most worrying for any mother. What, when, how often are just some of the questions that excite every young mother?<\/p>

Mother's milk is the best food and protection for the newborn. During the first few weeks after birth, the baby needs to nurse very often because the newborn's stomach is very small and cannot absorb large amounts of breast milk so that it is full for long periods of time.<\/p>

Here are 2 approaches of supervised and on-demand breastfeeding. In the past, most \"baby experts\" often recommended that parents feed their babies at regular intervals of 3 or 4 hours. During the first 10 days of a newborn's life, the daily amount of food is = 2% of body weight x number of days of the child's life. In the first - second month, the food should be 500-600 ml. By the third month, the amount reaches 800 ml, at the end of the fourth - 900 ml, and from the fifth to the twelfth it is 1000 ml \/ day. Breastfeeding on demand means forgetting about the clock and fully trusting the child's instincts and needs. When a baby is breastfed on demand, there is no way to go hungry or be overfed.
A baby's digestive system and the organs involved in digesting food mature between 4 and 6 months of age. They are fully formed only around the second year of the child's life. Feeding is one of the most important processes for children's health. It represents the inclusion of foods other than breast milk (or infant formula), as well as the order and manner of introduction of foods. The feeding process is usually started with products that are non-allergenic and easy to digest. One of the questions that most confuses and disturbs mothers is: with which foods to start feeding?<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

    1. The introduction of new food happens only when the child is completely healthy.<\/li>
    2. The addition of the food is done gradually - start with one teaspoon on the first day, two - on the second, and so in 7-8 days a whole portion is reached. It is recommended that the new food be given at the beginning of the meal and then the child be supplemented with breast milk (adapted milk).<\/li>
    3. Only one new food per week is included. The best time to feed is in the morning. In this way, it will be easier to monitor the child for possible manifestations of food allergy - rashes, upset stomach, constipation, vomiting.<\/li>
    4. If the baby stubbornly refuses the new food, temporarily stop offering it to him. Try another similar composition.<\/li>
    5. Expect changes in the color, consistency, and frequency of your baby's stools. This is normal and depends on the type of food being included. Don't be surprised, but be careful.<\/li>
    6. Make eating a pleasant event for the baby by allowing him to be with the family during the meal. Thus, he will begin to enjoy sharing his food with those closest to him.<\/li>
    7. Let your toddler explore the food with his fingers - although it will get dirty, he will develop his senses more fully.<\/li>
    8. When selecting the fruits and vegetables you include in the menu, remember the golden rule: \"From the season, from the region\" - i.e. apples are given in autumn and it is good that they are from the area where you live.<\/li>
    9. Salt, honey, nuts, exotic fruits are not recommended until the age of one year. Sugar is in minimal quantities when preparing creams and other desserts.<\/li>
    10. And don't forget the grandmothers' advice - it's best to eat outside - in the park, on the playground, in the forest.\u00a0
