Staying and playing outdoors is extremely important for the health and development of babies and children.
However, every mother knows that the sun is a friend, but also an enemy. The harm it can cause is well known and included in the recommendations of the World Health Organization:
- Excessive sun exposure during childhood increases the risk of skin cancer in the future and can cause serious damage to the eyes.
- All children under 15 have sensitive skin and eyes - protect them and set a good example.
– Children under one year old should not be exposed to the sun.
Today, we all want to make sure that we can safely and healthily protect our children from the harmful effects of the sun. We are looking for a reliable shield that protects against UVA-rays, which cause allergies and skin aging, and UVB-rays - the main culprits of pigmentation and burns.
Sunscreens come in two types of formulas for UVA and UVB protection:
With chemical filters – have an individual mechanism of action depending on their own spectrum of chemical reactions. For protection, it is necessary to apply the product approximately 30 minutes before exposure to the sun and wait. Most often, filters contain a combination of the following ingredients: oxybenzone, avobenzone, octisalate, octocrylene, homosalate and octinoxate, which serve to absorb the sun's rays. However, according to scientists, some of the active ingredients of chemical filters can cause health problems, provoke dermatitis and allergies in more sensitive skin.
ATTENTION!
The European Commission publishes its preliminary opinions on some UV filters, including homosalate and octocrylene, which are unsafe[2]. What are they?
Homosalat
Homosalate is a UV filter widely used in sunscreen products. Homosalate has been found to penetrate the skin, disrupt hormones, and over time can produce toxic byproducts. Opinions have been expressed that homosalate is not safe for use at concentrations up to 10 percent, and a maximum concentration of 1.4 percent is recommended due to concerns about potential endocrine disruption.
Оctocrylene
Studies have found that octocrylene causes relatively high levels of skin allergies. The European Commission recently concluded that there is some evidence of octocrylene's potential to disrupt the endocrine system.
Driven by the primary concern for the health of our children, we have created a new generation of "Baby Crema" sun protection products. We have developed cosmetic formulas specifically for the needs of delicate and immature children's skin. We have also complied with the recommendations of the WHO and the American Academy of Pediatrics for the use of sunscreen products in infants and children.
We have created as clean and light formulas as possible without homosalate and octocrylene. New gentle UVA and UVB filters provide immediate, safe and secure protection.
All Baby Crema sunscreens are very high SPF 50+ certified by the National Center for Public Health Research and Analysis!
For the health of children and for the convenience of mothers, we composed two new products - sunscreen milk and cream, to meet the recommendation of specialists - to avoid aerosols and sprays in sun protection:
Gentle sunscreen „Baby Crema“ without homosalate and octocrylene, with a very high degree of protection 50+ and new broad-spectrum UVA + UVB filters, suitable for face and body.
Sun protection milk "Baby Crema“ without homosalate and octocrylenewith SPF 50+ proven by the National Center for Public Health Research and Analysis.
The new innovative UVA and UVB filters instantly protect against burning. Thanks to the added chamomile extract, the skin is soft, elastic and hydrated. It has a moisturizing and antiseptic effect, and the delicate baby and children's skin is protected from drying out. The milk is enriched with almond oil and vitamins A + E for an even deeper moisturizing effect. It absorbs quickly and does not leave marks on clothes. The product is dermatologically tested, paraben-free.
When using, coat all exposed areas of the child's skin with a protective agent. Pay special attention to prominent parts of the face and body - ears, nose, shoulders, knees. They tend to burn first, so sunscreen these areas liberally and reapply more often than other areas. Apply every two hours a recommended 6 sprays per body area before sun exposure and again after swimming or drying. In summer, avoid sun exposure after 10 am and before 5 pm.
Newborns and babies under 6 months of age do not have protective skin mechanisms. They should only be in the shade, at a suitable temperature, with a hat and light cotton clothes.
– Reduce sun exposure during lunch hours.
– Stay in the shade.
– Use protective clothing.
– Wear a hat with a wide brim that protects the eyes, face and neck.
– Protect the eyes, by using glasses with side panels that protect the eyes and sides.
– Use broad-spectrum milk with sun protection factor (SPF)
– Limit the use of tanning beds.
- The protection of babies and young children is of particular importance.
